An Occupational Therapy (OT) completes an assessment to assess the impact of a person’s disability on their day-to-day life (functional capacity). How a person’s disability or disabilities impacts their ability to carry out everyday tasks is one of the key factors in determining eligibility for the NDIS under the NDIS Act.
To be eligible for the NDIS a person’s disability must be permanent and have a substantial impact on their functional capacity in one or more of these activity domains: Communication, Social interaction, Learning, Mobility, Self-care, and Self-management.
